In the projects and interim assignments that Seba has fulfilled until now, the theme of culture has always filled an important role. We distinguish four different perspectives.
Especially for 1. and 2., Seba is uniquely equipped:
• 1. The project or the solution to a specific problem takes place in a multicultural environment. Having the talent and skills required for diversity management is a prerequisite for an interim manager looking have success in such a situation. This type of question is becoming more and more common: a ‘normal’, properly qualified manager is needed who has diversity management as an extra skill.
• 2. Implementing diversity management: the project leader or manager can only perform when having expertise in diversity and the specific change processes that come with diversity issues. Project leaders without such expertise need to spend too much time in finding out what diversity is and how it works out in daily practices.
• 3. Culture change itself is the main factor for which the interim or project manager is hired. Think of an assignment to improve the result or customer orientation of the organisation or a project to introduce administrative and managerial change in a local government organisation where the administrative culture is also clearly changing.
• 4. Changes in the financial structure lead to new procedures and working methods which in turn need to result in adjustments in organisational culture. Culture is not the main topic but without prior cultural conditions the advantages of the financial restructuring or adjustments will not be realised.
